What's new
October 2026 — the main technical changes.
Shaping, cutting and tearing
- Plot your data with AMDAfter every export, a small card links to analysemydata.in, our sister site for plotting the data that goes with your illustration.
- Add buttonA visible Add button in the top bar (and Shift + A in the 3D view) adds sheets, shapes, 3D text, cameras, lights, empties, library items and imported models.
- Sheets in any shapeAdd › Sheet makes a flat sheet in the outline you choose — rectangle, rounded rectangle, circle, triangle, hexagon, star, heart, leaf, cell, bean, cross or arrow — at an exact width, depth and thickness.
- Exact measurementsSize & turn now shows each item's real Width, Depth and Height; type a number to resize it, with or without keeping its proportions.
- Shape changes for every itemOne click bends, twists, tapers, stretches, waves, spherifies, crumples, thickens, smooths, mirrors or repeats any shape or library item. Each change keeps its own X / Y / Z and strength slider, can be removed, or made permanent.
- Cut by handThe Cut tool cuts any item — a beaker, a flask, a tissue block — along a shape you draw, straight through it: cut that area away, keep only it, or cut it out as a separate piece. The cut faces come out solid, so a cut beaker shows its glass wall.
- Tear by handThe Tear tool tears an item in two along the line you draw, with a ragged torn edge (or a clean slice), through every layer — a blot transfer sandwich tears through each filter paper, the gel and the membrane — and pulls the halves apart so each can be moved on its own.
- Drape like clothBlender-style cloth physics: a sheet falls, folds over the items under it and comes to rest, as silk, cotton or leather, free or pinned at the corners or an edge.
- Reshape by handA Reshape brush (as in Blender's Sculpt Mode) pulls out, pushes in, grabs, smooths or flattens the surface wherever you drag, with adjustable size and strength. Every stroke can be undone.
Editing and colour
- Select several⌘ / Ctrl + click (or Shift + click) adds an item to the selection or takes it out, in both studios; ⌘ / Ctrl + A selects everything.
- Copy and paste in 3D⌘ / Ctrl + C and V copy whole items (with their parts and colours) and paste them beside the originals.
- Right-click to editRight-clicking an item in 3D selects it and opens its editing menu: copy, paste, duplicate, move, turn, size, colour and gradient, select all, focus, hide, keyframe, edit shape, send to 2D and delete.
- Gradients in 3DAny item or part can blend from its colour into a second colour: bottom to top, left to right, front to back (and the reverse), or out from the centre. For a library item the gradient can run across the whole item or within each part, and it turns with the item.
2D to 3D, and Blender-style cameras
- Send to 3DThe 2D Studio can now send the whole page (or a selection, from the right-click menu) to the 3D Studio. Every element becomes its own object in the same arrangement, seen from the front. Library pictures come back as the real 3D items, with their settings, the angle you turned them to, their size and turn. Shapes, arrows, text and uploads become flat cards, and groups become parent objects.
- Navigate like BlenderView › Blender Navigation: middle-drag orbits, Shift + middle pans, Ctrl + middle or the wheel zooms, left-drag box-selects, and G / R / S move, turn and scale. Numpad 2 / 4 / 6 / 8 orbit in 15° steps, Ctrl + numpad pans, Numpad 9 flips to the opposite side and Numpad + / − zoom, alongside the existing 1 / 3 / 7 / 5 / 0 views.
- A real scene cameraView › Camera to this view adds (or moves) the scene camera; Numpad 0 looks through it; View › Lock Camera to View lets you frame the shot by navigating, as in Blender. In the video bar, choose Camera › Scene camera: go to a moment, frame the shot, press Camera key (or I on the camera), and the video plays and saves through the camera and its keyframes.
Better human figures
- No more torn armsWhere the scanned arms lay against the chest, the skin is now separated and rebuilt, so every posed figure is whole from every angle — standing, sitting, in a wheelchair or with a walking aid.
- Clothes that drapeGarments sit off the body as real fabric, bridge hollows instead of showing every muscle, have clean hems and overlap at the waist; nothing shows through them.
- Modest by defaultEvery figure has a smooth, mannequin-like groin, under clothes and underwear alike.
- Hair, hands and postureBobs and long hair with strands that leave the neck visible, palms that turn naturally towards the thighs, hands resting on the lap when seated, and a smooth pregnant belly.
Cancer, neurology, people and delivery forms
- Cancer by organ and stage31 organ cancers drawn on the real atlas organs — lung, breast, bowel, stomach, oesophagus, liver, bile ducts, pancreas, kidney, bladder, prostate, testis, ovary, womb, cervix, thyroid, brain, mouth, larynx, tonsil, thymus, lymph nodes, spleen, adrenal and more — each with stages 0 to IV, from in situ to nodes and metastases.
- How cancer starts15 carcinogenesis models: tobacco smoke, DNA damaged by benzo[a]pyrene, aflatoxin, UV, alkylating agents, oxidation, cisplatin, acetaldehyde and aristolochic acid, double-strand breaks, asbestos fibres, the metastatic cascade, tumour blood-vessel growth and clonal evolution.
- Neurological disease20 see-through brain models with stages (Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, Huntington's, ALS, MS, dementias, hydrocephalus, epilepsy, bleeds, head injury, tumours, infections) and 10 cell and molecule models (amyloid, tau, α-synuclein, demyelination, inclusions, prions, excitotoxicity, myasthenia, microglia, nerve degeneration).
- People of every age29 people built on the atlas body: newborn to 85+, the three trimesters of pregnancy, and wheelchairs, crutches with a cast, walking frames, canes, hospital beds, IV drips, slings, neck collars, oxygen, incubators — plus how Parkinson's, stroke, cerebral palsy, ALS, MS and dementia look.
- Delivery and application forms34 new biomaterial forms: injectable gels and pastes from a syringe, a dual-barrel mixing syringe, depots in skin and muscle from injection to release, eye drops, nasal and wound sprays, alginate beads, bioprinting, vials, topical tubes, contact-angle drops, suppositories and bone-defect fillers. Hydrogels now also come as plugs, fibres, films, tubes, rings, drops, capsules and microgels.
- 51 new templates27 cancer stories (how each cause leads to cancer, and every major cancer stage by stage), 19 neurology stories that go from the person to the molecules, the brain and back to diagnosis and treatment, and 5 picture series of people across the lifespan, in pregnancy, in hospital and with mobility aids.
- Home pageA link at the bottom of the home page to analysemydata.in for analysing your data.
Teeth, bones, joints and implants
- Dental modelsA lower molar modelled layer by layer in its socket (enamel, dentine, pulp, cementum, periodontal ligament, cortical and trabecular bone, marrow, the inferior alveolar nerve and vessels, gingiva), with 16 conditions and treatments from caries and periodontitis to root canal treatment and impacted wisdom teeth.
- Bones and jointsKnee, hip, lumbar spine and long-bone sections whose trabeculae follow the real stress lines, with 39 conditions: arthritis, fractures and their healing, osteonecrosis, osteomyelitis, disc disease, spinal stenosis, bone tumours and more.
- Implants and biomaterialsDental implants, hip and knee replacements, fracture fixation, spinal instrumentation, shoulder and ankle components, screws with real thread profiles, graft materials and scaffolds, most shown in the bone they are used in.
- Diseases on real organs31 diseases drawn on the atlas organs: liver, lung, brain, heart, kidney, bowel, pancreas, spleen, thyroid and eye.
- Skeleton with the nervous systemThe atlas skeleton and brain with the spinal cord, spinal nerves, sympathetic trunks and the main nerves of the arms and legs laid along the real bones; also on the home page.
Realistic organs and organelles
- Real anatomy shapes16 human organs are built from the BodyParts3D atlas or the Human Reference Atlas; the inner ear and thyroid are modelled at true proportions. Look → Illustrated keeps the textbook drawing.
- Living-tissue surfaceA procedural shader for organs, anatomy, in vivo models and organelles: colour variation, capillaries, lobules, muscle fibres, micro relief, a wet coat and light scattered inside the tissue.
- OrganellesNucleus, mitochondrion, Golgi, rough and smooth ER, lysosome, endosome, peroxisome, vesicle and centrosome rebuilt as continuous implicit surfaces (cristae fold out of the inner membrane, pores pass through both envelope membranes).
- In vivo organs13 mouse organ cards take real anatomical shapes; the CT lungs and liver are re-surfaced to remove scan banding.
